CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

Heather’s Dance Company has a child protection policy in place as well as adhering to the ISTD and NSPPC child protection policies.  HDC aims to provide a safe environment where children can learn in protected surroundings under the care of qualified or professionally experienced, insured and DBS checked teachers.  The HDC child protection policy should be followed by all teachers, assistant and guest teachers; as well as parents and helpers for events and shows.

Our safe guarding officer is Emily Godden, please contact Emily by email: emilylgodden@gmail.com if you have any concerns regarding safeguarding.

Equal opportunities

HDC believes that all children regardless of age, disability, gender, racial heritage, religious belief, sexual orientation or identity, have a right to equal participation at HDC and equal protection from all types of harm or abuse.

We will seek to keep children and young people safe by:

  • Valuing them, listening to and respecting them
  • Adopting child protection practices through procedures and a code of conduct for staff and volunteers
  • Providing effective management of staff and volunteers through supervision, support and training
  • Recruiting staff and volunteers safely, ensuring all necessary checks are made

We are committed to reviewing our policy and good practice annually.
